COMMUNITY PROJECT: FACE MASK DISTRIBUTIONS

Assalamualaikum wb

Alhamdulillah, with the great of Allah SWT, our team from Community Project have complete our first project called Face Mask Distributions. This pandemic really affecting most people in various aspects including financial, economic, and also social issues. We all aware that Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by a newly discovered coronavirus. Most people who fall sick with COVID-19 will experience mild to moderate symptoms and recover without special treatment. The virus that causes COVID-19 is mainly transmitted through droplets generated when an infected person coughs, sneezes, or exhales. These droplets are too heavy to hang in the air and quickly fall on floors or surfaces. You can be infected by breathing in the virus if you are within close proximity of someone who has COVID-19, or by touching a contaminated surface and then your eyes, nose, or mouth.

As we all aware during this pandemic, the front liners have work really hard to ensure our safety from this disease. As a student, we have our own alternative to spread awareness and help they needed as they might not get enough face mask for their safety. We as a student s launch a project where we help those who needed in form of face mask. Below is the information about our launch project.

DATE: 18th - 24th December 2020
PLATFORM: Online purchase and distributions
TARGET COMMUNITY: Needed people listed on Lembaga Zakat Selangor

Our team (Muhammad Izham, Muhammad Afeeq, Shahezam Najmie, Zairy Asnizam) has already distributed our job as we will purchase the face mask through online shopping and the face mask will be received by the targeted community. The planning is to give the face mask also with the hand sanitizer as it will help the needed people throughout this pandemic. The total budget is RM50 from our member team and a total of RM200 from the collection of public donations.

Purchasing face masks on the Shopee platform.

By doing this kind of action, there will be no direct touch on each person as it will decrease the issue of touching someone that might spread the viruses. As a result, this picture showed the evidence of received face masks from the community itself.

Alhamdulillah as the results, Measures to prevent infections are necessary in the current pandemic. Face masks have been considered a first step to prevent and contain the spread of the disease. Different types of masks are available on the market for this purpose.

Simple masks covering the mouth and nose are primarily used to prevent transmission by holding back droplets. This is useful when the recommended minimum distance of 1.5 m is not feasible. The masks provide only limited self-protection for its wearer and this is only when they are used properly.

Thank you.
